December 8, 2006: Opening Day at Snow Trails

Mansfield, OH, (PRWEB) December 10, 2006 -- Snow Trails Winter Resort will be able to hold onto their bragging rights as the "first" Ohio Resort to open yet another year. On Friday, December 8th, Snow Trails officially ushered in the 2006/07 ski season for Ohio.

Being "first" has become a tradition as well as a challenge with Snow Trails. Besides being the first to open, Snow Trails has many other "firsts" this season, including: a new snowtubing park, new "Flexible" timed tickets that enable guests to determine how much they want to pay based on how long they want to ski, snowboard, or tube, new youth programs, and new corporate programs.

Colder temperatures and a week-long snowmaking effort have quickly established a substantial base of snow that enabled the Resort to open a day or two ahead of competitors. The tubing park grand opening announcement will be released soon.

Opening day hours on December 8th for skiing and snowboarding will be 2:00pm- 9:30pm. Snow Trails will open with the Mt. Mansfield slope, Competition slope, and Beginner's Area. Additional runs will open throughout the weekend as snowmaking crews work 24 hours a day with mother nature. Weekend hours for Saturday and Sunday include 9am-9:30pm. For current, up to the minute snow conditions call 800-332-SNOW or visit the website at www.snowtrails.com.

Snow Trails Winter Resort has been serving Ohio since 1961. There are six lifts and two conveyor carpets, serving 13 runs, including three terrain parks and a snowtubing park, on 60 acres. The ski season runs through March, weather permitting. The resort is located off Interstate 71 at Route 13 south of Mansfield, OH on Possum Run road. For more information call 800-OHIO-SKI or visit the website at www.snowtrails.com.
